Florida Hurricanes
Have you heard that Florida is in the
Direct Path of another Tropical Storm?
I know what you are thinking... we are all thinking it!
PLEASE NO MORE HURRICANES!
- There is actually some positive to this Tropical Storm! We have already survived Irma and while Florida is still recovering and several of us are still trying to get back to living a normal life... We know what to expect from a Category 3 so most of us scoff at the idea of a possible Category 1!
- Florida is notorious for their "Hurricane Parties" so make sure you are ready to partake in the festivities! Rainy BBQ and late night board games! Don't forget to bring the wine and the flash lights!
- None of us enjoy being without power and probably don't expect to really lose power this time, however, Fall is finally upon us which means cooler weather and less sweaty couches! Make sure you have your fans ready, just in case!
- Hurricane Irma already took out the really heavy trees, now we only have to worry about cleaning up the debris we already cleaned up once. Which means we should be professionals by now! Right?
- Weekend plans ruined? No worries, swimming in rain is totally acceptable and was one of the best parts of summer when we were kids! Not to mention, now is the perfect time to pull out that skim board and take a ride across the tiny pond that has been starting in your back yard!
- That stockpile of non perishable foods you purchased and that stack of bottled water you never drank, might come in handy!
- Last but not least, those sand bags that are just randomly lying around your home, might also come in handy with the rain we should be getting! Just remember not to dry up the mini pond you plan on skim boarding on!
In all seriousness, even though this won't be one of the major storms of the season, please be sure to stay safe and take the rain and wind seriously. It doesn't take much wind to cause debris to fly and rain can cause flooding and can cause issues on the road ways. Be safe and find ways to enjoy this weekend. I understand that a rainy day might put a damper on things, but remember a lazy movie day or board games inside isn't always a terrible way to spend your weekend!
