My Florida Wedding- I LOVE Florida
A little more personal life that tells you who I really am.
Anyone who knows me knows I am a born and raised several generation Florida Native!
With that being said it is not much of a surprise that I love Florida, the beaches, the warm sunny weather (most days), the sun showers, and the water that surrounds and will probably soon overtake Florida. I have a very difficult time imagining myself living anywhere other than Florida.
I went to University of Central Florida (GO KNIGHTS!!!) for Hospitality Management and during those two years of getting my Bachelors degree I spent a ridiculous amount of time traveling all over Florida. I traveled with friends, family, and I oftentimes took trips on my own for the weekend to explore new parts of Florida I hadn't seen yet. It is amazing how many different things there are to see in one state. I became interested in Real Estate and knew I would love it because I have traveled most of Florida. My GPS skills might not be above par or even close, however, I absolutely love traveling Florida every chance I get.
Anyways, I met my Husband who is also a several generation Florida native. We were crazy enough to get married and we both wanted a wedding on the water, I wanted a wedding on a sail boat (slightly out of our price and time range). We agreed that being married on the lake was the next best thing.
If you have not yet been to visit Mackay Gardens in Lake Alfred you are really missing out on the nature preserve on the lake. This is one of the top places for Central Florida Weddings because it is absolutely gorgeous! FREE to go visit too!
We surely are not cowboys and would never claim to be, we are more of the fishermen type. However, we really enjoy the Keys and these old rickety wooden signs were reminiscent of that.
This is where we had our wedding ceremony! Under an old cypress tree. On the lake! Under an old pine lighter arch. I can not imagine it being a more beautiful day!
Our decoration was not bright colors nor was it fancy. We were very simple and went with what we hold near and dear to our hearts. ORANGE GROVES!
This is one of the most amazing photos even though it is just a shoe and rings. This shoe is a KINO and they are made in the Florida Keys! The rings are Hawaiian Koa wood and Abalone Shell. I can not explain how much those rings symbolize how we are as people. The shoes were my wedding day shoes. I mean, walking lakeside in a pair of heels just wasn't how I was raised so the next best thing to being barefoot is a white pair of KINO sandals!
So, as you can see. I am 100% Floridan and anything under 75 degrees is probably a good reason for me to pull out the heavy down jacket!
